Team PEM conquers the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
Forty colleagues from PEM have successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, demonstrating remarkable resilience, teamwork and determination while raising nearly £10,000 for the PEM Charitable Trust.
Taking on one of the UK’s most iconic endurance routes, the team tackled 24 miles of rugged terrain across Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Participants faced tough inclines and changeable weather throughout the day, with conditions shifting frequently between wind, showers and brighter spells.
Despite the challenge, spirits remained high. Layers were constantly on and off, and at times the conditions were wet enough for those in glasses to joke about needing windscreen wipers. Blisters and fatigue were met with determination and good humour, with colleagues supporting one another every step of the way.
Reflecting on the challenge, Warren Tilbury, CEO at PEM and a participant on the day, said: “Taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge alongside colleagues was a fantastic experience. The team showed incredible determination and spirit throughout, supporting one another while also raising an impressive amount for the PEM Charitable Trust.”
Together, the team has raised nearly £10,000 for the PEM Charitable Trust, supporting a range of local charitable initiatives. Donations can be made here, funds raised will be used to support grant applications. More information about the PEM Charitable Trust can be found here.
