Forty‑four members of the PEM team are set to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 6 June, raising vital funds for the PEM Charitable Trust.
The challenge will see the team tackle a demanding 24‑mile (38.6km) route across the Yorkshire Dales, taking in Ingleborough, Pen‑y‑Ghent and Whernside, the highest of the three peaks, before finishing back at Chapel‑le‑Dale. With significant elevation and a target completion time of 12 hours, the event will test both physical stamina and mental resilience.
The fundraising target for the challenge is £10 000, which will go directly to the PEM Charitable Trust. PEM Charitable Trust was established in 2018 and is a registered charity (registered charity number 1181792). The trust is a grant‑giving charity established to support local charities and community organisations, particularly across Cambridgeshire and the surrounding region.
Funds raised through events such as the Cambridge Half Marathon and the annual Sporting Challenge enable the Trust to support a broad range of causes, from small grassroots organisations to established local charities, making a practical and lasting difference in the communities they serve.
With 44 colleagues taking part, many participants have been training for months alongside busy professional schedules. The challenge reflects PEM’s wider commitment to giving back and supporting the charities that play a crucial role in local communities.
James Burrett, Partner and Trustee of PEM Charitable Trust said:
“The Trust exists to provide practical support to local charities doing important work in our communities. By taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, our team is helping to ensure we can continue offering grants to organisations that rely on charitable funding to deliver essential services. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help the PEM Charitable Trust continue supporting charities that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.”
Supporters, clients and members of the wider community are being encouraged to donate and back the team as they prepare to take on the challenge.
Donations can be made via the team’s fundraising page.
