Carbon Matters brings together expert legal, financial and sustainability perspectives to help organisations move beyond intention and into credible climate action.

Hosted by Cambridge Network, this insightful event will explore the growing scrutiny around environmental claims, the risks of greenwashing, and how robust carbon accounting can underpin meaningful sustainability strategies.

Date: 22 September 2026
Time:  – Location: Future Business Centre, King’s Hedges Road, Cambridge CB4 2HY
  • Mills & Reeve will open the discussion by examining the dangers of greenwashing and the legal implications businesses now face as regulators, investors and customers demand greater transparency.
  • PEM will explain how to accurately measure carbon footprint using internationally recognised metrics, explaining how carbon accounting- powered by financial transaction analysis – provides a reliable, data-driven assessment of carbon output and identifies areas for improvement.
  • edenseven (part of Cambridge MC group) will focus on turning insight into action, exploring how to use a carbon accounting report to mitigate emissions and implement practical strategies to achieve sustainability goals.

The event will conclude with an interactive panel discussion, bringing together organisations with lived experience of using carbon accounting to build and execute sustainability strategies. Panel contributors will include Hannah Swinburne from Peterborough City Council and Andres Perez from AstraZeneca, who will share real-world insights, lessons learned and practical challenges from their carbon accounting journeys.

Whether you are starting your net zero journey or refining an established approach, Carbon Matters will equip you with the knowledge, tools and confidence to act decisively and credibly.
