Before joining PEM in 2008, Melanie worked in industry for an agricultural chemical company which was a client of PEM. When her role was relocated to Wales and was facing redundancy, the Virtual Finance Office (VFO) was just being established, and Melanie was offered a position. Since then, Melanie completed both her AAT and CIMA qualifications, and has had the privilege of watching the VFO team grow over the past 17 years.
Melanie leads a small team within the VFO, supporting them in delivering high-quality service to our clients. As Digital Services Lead, she oversees software conversions and guides clients through the transition process. She also helps to identify additional software solutions tailored to their needs and review their workflows to recommend meaningful improvements. More recently, Melanie has taken on responsibility for our carbon accounting service which will hopefully gain a lot of interest with our clients and potential new clients.
Melanie has two energetic Sprocker Spaniels who keep her active and often lead her on long countryside walks. She love’s to go on holidays and try to escape to the north coast of Devon whenever she can. She is also a keen runner—when not recovering from injury—and has completed eight half marathons so far. In addition, Melanie has taken part in the London Moonwalk five times. When she’s not outdoors, she enjoys relaxing with a good book or listening to music.
