At PEM, we bid a fond farewell to two of our partners, Derek Carr and Lake Falconer, who have been with the firm for 40 years collectively.
Derek Carr joined PEM in April 2002 and has held the position of Tax Partner, leading both Business and Employment Tax teams. Matthew Eady now leads the Employment Tax team, with Jan Fachot leading the Business Tax team.
On his retirement, Derek comments:
After spending four decades in tax, it is time to pass on the reins. I am privileged to have been part of PEM for 21 years during a period of tremendous change. It has been especially rewarding to work alongside some amazing people to provide services that are valued by our clients. I will miss PEM as it is a truly unique place to work and I am sure it will continue to be the most successful independent accountancy practice in Cambridge.
On exiting PEMCF, Lake says:
After 18 years at PEM I’m proud to have been a part of it’s success in a period during which the firm more than doubled in size and truly become THE Cambridge accountancy firm. I’ll always be grateful that PEM gave me the chance to establish a corporate finance business. I’ll miss the great people, culture and client focus that makes the place special, but I’m delighted to see the Corporate Finance business and the firm as a whole in such great shape for continued success.
Managing Partner, Warren Tilbury commented:
Both Derek and Lake have been instrumental to the success of PEM and PEM Corporate Finance, they will be sorely missed by staff, clients and friends of PEM and I wish them all the best for the next stage of their journey.
