Eleanor Bull

Eleanor graduated from UCL in 2014 with a BSc Hons in Biochemistry. She then went on to work in electoral compliance for a start-up feminist political party in London before moving back to Cambridge and joining PEM in 2019.

On a day to day basis, Eleanor is responsible for corporation tax compliance for a range of companies from start-up SMEs, to owner-managed businesses and larger corporate groups. She also advises on various tax matters such as mergers/demergers, exits and reorganisations, and anything else that might come up in the course of doing business.

With a background in Biochemistry, it gives Eleanor a unique perspective in corporation tax, particularly when working with Cambridge’s thriving biotech and life sciences start-up community. Understanding the science behind drug development, genomics, diagnostics and research helps Eleanor build strong relationships with clients. This is particularly relevant to R&D tax relief work, where technical knowledge is essential when assessing qualifying projects and communicating complex scientific concepts in a clear and concise manner.

In summer, Eleanor enjoys café-hopping on her two motorcycles and annual grass racing on her trusty 125. She hopes to do more off-roading and overseas touring. In winter, she plays for Royston Hockey Club’s Ladies 1s. She also enjoys walking Casper, her Miniature American Shepherd.
