PEM are delighted to welcome you to the Kreston UK and Ireland Conference 2025 which will be held in central Cambridge on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 March 2025.

In PEM’s 150th anniversary year, we are delighted for you to have the chance to visit Cambridge, which is best known for being home to one of the world’s most prestigious universities, the University of Cambridge, which has produced numerous influential scholars, scientists, and public figures since its founding in 1209. The city’s unique architecture, such as the iconic King’s College chapel and the Mathematical Bridge spanning the river Cam, reflects centuries of academic excellence.

As well as the rich history and architecture, Cambridge has many beautiful green spaces, such as The Backs along the River Cam, and hosts the picturesque tradition of punting along the river. Its blend of rich history, cultural landmarks, museums, independent shops and artisan cafes and restaurants makes Cambridge a captivating place to explore.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available at the Graduate Hotel by Hilton on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 March 2025. The hotel is at the heart of Cambridge, so a great starting point to explore the city.

PEM have reserved sufficient rooms for both nights. Please do not book your own accommodation; we will book this for you as per your completed registration form.

Note on costs:

The room’s have been pre-paid. PEM will look after these costs and will issue an interim invoice to each firm in due course.

Optional Thursday Activities

Punting | 2pm - 2:45pm

Scudamore's Punting Cambridge first introduced pleasure punting to the city in 1910. Remaining true to Jack Scudamore's original vision, they work to ensure that the River Cam can be enjoyed by all, offering traditional boating services with a tour of the surrounding colleges and famous bridges. Meeting point: Mill Lane Punting Station, Mill Lane, Cambridge, CB2 1RS. *Please arrive to all activities 15 minutes prior to start time. (1:45pm for guidance).

Walking Tour of Cambridge | 2pm - 4pm

A walking tour is a great way to experience this fascinating city, to feel its unique history and to connect with the stories that make it special. The streets and squares of the historic city centre are packed with shops, colleges, pubs, churches, museums, restaurants and there is a daily open market. This tour starts and ends outside the Graduate Hotel. *Please arrive to all activities 15 minutes prior to start time. (1:45pm for guidance).

Tour of Cambridge Botanical Gardens | 2pm – 3:30pm

Tours of the Garden are tailor-made to the season and always reflect what is looking best at the time, as well as giving a thorough grounding in the landscapes and plant collections of this heritage-listed Botanic Garden. Meeting point: 3 Station Rd, Cambridge CB1 2JB. *Please arrive to all activities 15 minutes prior to start time. (1:45pm for guidance).

Thursday evening welcome drinks reception

A formal dinner has not been arranged on Thursday evening. As in previous years, delegates will arrange their own meals.

The Graduate Hotel has its own restaurant, the Garden House, and they are happy to take reservations. Otherwise, there are a selection of great local restaurants and pubs just a short walk from the hotel. Pre-booking is recommended.

Friday night welcome drinks & dinner

Where: The Crick Room, University Arms Hotel, Regent Street, CB2 1AD

Dinner (preceded by welcome drinks) will be held in the Crick Room at the University Arms Hotel. The menu is yet to be finalised and will be circulated closer to the conference date. Please highlight any dietary requirements in the delegate registration form.

Travel Information

The closest airport to Cambridge is London Stansted, which also has a train line running direct to Cambridge.
There are taxi ranks outside the airport terminal.
The airport is approximately a 40-minute drive to/from the hotel.
The Graduate Hotel is a 10-minute drive or 30-minute walk from Cambridge Train Station.
There is limited parking available at the hotel at a cost of £26.50 per night, so you may wish to car share or arrive by train.
