Derek is responsible for the extensive range of Employment Taxes and Incentives services offered by his team. As well as being a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax and past Chairman of the Mid Anglia Branch of the CIOT, Derek has particular experience of acting for PEM property clients involved in construction, development and investment activities.

Director, PEM VAT Services
Robert Plumbly (Director) joined PEM in 2003 and heads PEM’s VAT function. A qualified tax adviser with over 20 years’ professional experience in VAT, Robert advises on all aspects of VAT, with the education sector being his particular area of expertise. Robert is also Chairman of the East Anglian Chapter of the VAT Practitioners Group.
Much of Robert’s work involves the provision of advice and assistance to help minimise the VAT costs of construction work by the proper utilisation of the VAT recovery rules and the VAT reliefs available. The VAT rules surrounding property transactions are complicated. Robert’s technical ability and detailed understanding of the subject mean that he is well placed to deliver pragmatic and useful advice to property developers, investors, tenants, occupiers and users.

Audit Partner
Roger’s portfolio of clients include owner-managed property businesses, research institutes with property portfolios and businesses involved in property investment. He advises on corporate structures, strategic business planning and tax mitigation for growing businesses and has considerable experience of working with clients and helping them to achieve their goals. With wide experience of property issues and a strong network of professional advisers he and is well placed to advise clients in the property sector.
