Meet the Professional Firms team
Audit Partner
Kelly specialises in advising professional firm clients on matters such as business structures, retirement and succession planning, as well as practice management issues. As a key member of the Professional Firms Business Development Team Kelly has detailed knowledge and experience of the operation of legal practices and the current challenges facing the profession; and also fully understands the diverse needs of other professional firms including chartered surveyors, architects, estate agents and insurance brokers. Kelly also works closely with the Technology Business Development Team to offer a highly experienced service to technology and research companies and institutions requiring assistance with grant funding claims. This includes advising on systems and methodologies for recording costs as well as the auditing of claim forms. Kelly’s client base also includes a number of owner managed businesses, not-for-profit organisations and Cambridge Colleges. As head of the firm’s Technical Committee Kelly is responsible for compliance, training and assurance matters.

Manager, Audit
James has a varied client portfolio including corporates, partnerships and not-for-profit organisations. James provides his clients with timely compliance work and in particular is an expert of client money audits.

Manager, Private Clients
Terry joined PEM in 1998, and is a manager in the Private Client team. Prior to this Terry spent a considerable amount of time in the audit group managing a wide range of clients including local companies, owner managed businesses and individuals. Terry’s main focus is now personal tax compliance and advisory work including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax, whilst continuing to work closely with the audit team.

Manager, Audit
Katie is an Audit Manager with PEM and works for a number of professional firms carrying out client monies audits and preparing financial statements. She has been involved in helping these firms identify and implement key internal controls along with continuously monitoring their financial performance and assisting with financing decisions. She has also helped partnerships to consider their trading status and review the implications of incorporation.
