We are members of Kreston International (www.kreston.com) - a global network of independent accounting firms. Founded in 1971, Kreston offers reliable and convenient access to quality services through its member firms located around the globe. Currently ranking as the 14th largest accounting association in the world, Kreston now covers over 98 countries with 600 offices providing a resource of over 19,000 professionals and support staff.
The Service
PEM has always boasted international expertise with a network of contacts across the globe. However, we identified the increasing need to improve our international offering both in terms of global coverage and services offered. Becoming a member firm of Kreston International enables PEM to truly offer a ‘local firm’ service to international clients across the globe. This is seen as highly significant to many companies and organisations whom expand their operations overseas.
Whatever your business, accounting or consultancy requirements, we will be there to provide expert support internationally through our membership of Kreston.
Kreston strives to provide a cohesive offering that enables independent firms to work together to deliver international solutions, whether it be international group audits, cross-border taxation, expatriate tax, or a host of other service needs.
The technology sector and the global marketplace
There are few technology businesses that do not need to consider international tax. The technology marketplace is truly global – be it licensing or exploiting IP, sourcing products, services or people, there is a good chance there will be an international flavour for many.
Key areas of risk include:
- Interest and royalty payments paid to/received from overseas parties
- Buying and selling overseas
- Working with overseas agents to exploit local markets
- Transferring businesses overseas
- Employing overseas workers
- EMI and EIS reliefs for international holding companies or operations
- Transactions with overseas group companies or connected persons
- Working in the US market
We can advise businesses on how to minimise exposure to overseas tax and UK tax in respect of cross-border business.
The Benefits
Clients can rest assured that PEM is not restricted solely to the UK, our global reach supports our assertion – that we are credible alternatives to the national accountancy firms. By choosing a Kreston International member, you will reduce the learning curve and the risk when entering international markets, but maintain control through one-to-one contact with us.
In the last year alone we have worked on over 50 international assignments with a range of businesses.
