UK Technology Survey - have your say

Peters Elworthy & Moore (PEM) joins forces with Kreston International to get the views of the UK Technology Sector

There can be no doubt that the last few years have been challenging for businesses in the technology sector. There is, however, a sense that things in this market are beginning to ease. The technology sector has been identified by Government as key to the UK’s recovery from recession and support for technology was a key part of the strategy in the Budget earlier this year with direct funding to key research institutions in grant funding through the technology strategy board for businesses; tax breaks including the prospect of the patent box and the establishment of technology and innovation centres. But what effect, will/are these changes having on the sectors across the UK?

PEM has joined forces with other UK member firms of Kreston to put together and distribute the Kreston International UK Technology survey, to technology businesses and professional institutions involved in the technology sector across the whole of the UK. The survey aims to achieve a comprehensive overview of the key issues currently affecting, and the confidence within, this sector on a national and regional basis.

PEM will be issuing a summary of the report and its findings to the relevant government departments and policy makers in central and local government.

Chris Walklett, Partner and Head of PEM Technology, at PEM comments “I truly believe that the knowledge based economy has the potential to be part of the solution to the UK’s economic woes.  The Dyson report gave the Coalition government a major steer as to how this might be delivered.  This national survey is an excellent opportunity to get a sense of whether entrepreneurs and the wider technology sector believe we are heading in the right direction and the key issues and opportunities they are grappling with.”
