Michael Hewett, Manager

I am a Manager in our Audit and Accounts team having joined PEM as an ACA trainee in 2008. After qualifying in 2011, I have progressed in my career and now manage a mixed portfolio of charity, not-for-profit and corporate clients. My portfolio includes over a dozen large charities and two Cambridge Colleges.

Over the last few years my focus has definitely shifted towards to the charity and not-for-profit sector and I am currently studying for the ICAEW’s Diploma in Charity Accounting (DChA) at London’s Cass Business School. As part of this I have recently completed an assignment on Best Practice Reserves Policies and am committed to help improve charity reporting going forward.

I’m local to Cambridge and proud that this great city is also at the heart of PEM and our culture.  Working at PEM is so much more than just satisfying compliance needs and I spend a lot of my time with my teams focusing on how we communicate with our clients and how we can better understand their needs to deliver the certainty that they want.

However, I don’t spend all my time sat behind my desk or visiting audit teams on site. Outside of work you will probably find me outdoors either training for my latest half marathon attempt (four completed so far) or doing some form of adventurous activity with my Scout group.
